Nature Photographers and Filmmakers Wanted

Calling all nature photographers and filmmakers. A groundbreaking new media platform designed to connect more of us to nature is launching its apps' first beta iteration this week.

The new nature platform, known as Mammalz, was founded last year by wildlife filmmakers Rob Whitehair and Alex Finden, and is essentially a hub for nature photographers and filmmakers around the globe. While most nature photographers are currently spread across different platforms, Mammalz is the first niche platform to attempt to bring the nature community together under one roof.

While Mammalz is similar to many of the social platforms we use today, it is the first social platform dedicated to nature photography. It brings together features from some of our favorite social media platforms, with one nuance — the possibility of monetization. According to Finden, the site is essentially a “Twitch for Nature”; "a next-generation community platform for sharing and interacting with all forms of nature media. Whether you are a professional media maker, scientist, educator, artist, writer, or one of over 600 million nature enthusiasts across the planet, Mammalz provides you with the tools to personalize your experience, share your love of nature, and truly make a difference."

Whitehair and Finden explained that while there is an ever-growing interest in nature photography, the traditional means of making a living with it has dramatically decreased. Content creators are able to upload any kind of content to the site, including nature podcasts, images, videos, and 360/VR with the ability to live stream and have real-time chats.

Keen nature photographers and filmmakers can subscribe to the Mammalz newsletter where they will receive instructions on how to sign on to the app. The first beta iteration of the app will be capped at 10,000 users so if you are interested its best not to wait too long.
